The TRATON Group is more than just a company – we're a global community made up of colleagues from many walks of life. We recognize that everyone is unique, but we all share a common desire for respect and inclusion. That's why we're committed to creating a workplace free of prejudice, discrimination, and intolerance; one where all voices are heard and valued, and everyone feels empowered, in line with the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) framework.
"By embracing diversity and inclusivity throughout our company, we can unlock untapped talent and creativity, enabling everyone to thrive and reach their full potential.”Tobias Reiser
The D&I framework aims to foster a workplace culture or society that is welcoming, respectful, and supportive of all individuals. At TRATON, we do not discriminate or tolerate discrimination on grounds of ethnic or national origin, sex, gender identity, religion, views, age, disability, sexual orientation, skin color, political views, social background, or any other characteristics protected by law. Going beyond traditional notions of diversity like acceptance or tolerance, D&I actively celebrates our differences.
“TRATON is a multi-brand, multi-national, multi-skilled organization by concept. We believe in the positive impact of D&I, as it enables us to harness our differences as a source of strength. By embracing diversity and inclusivity throughout our company, we can unlock untapped talent and creativity, enabling everyone to thrive and reach their full potential.” Tobias Reiser, Talent Management Specialist at TRATON, and in this role focuses on diversity and inclusion.
D&I generates a happier working environment, while driving innovation and economic growth
Studies have shown that companies which embrace D&I practices play host to a happier workforce. According to a Boston Consulting Group survey, 81 percent of employees who reported that they work in an inclusive culture also responded that they are happy in their jobs – three times more than those who don’t feel included. This happiness is translated into productivity: the same survey found that employees who report they are happy at work are 1.5 times more likely to say they always want to give their best.
Employees with different perspectives are better at identifying problems, finding new solutions, and thinking their way into customers' needs. Several studies have shown that, as well as making employees voices heard, D&I can also drive innovation and economic growth.
Companies with a diverse workforce and management team have greater opportunities for growth and bring up to 75 percent more innovation to the market, according to Coqual (formerly the Center for Talent Innovation).
Meanwhile, a study undertaken by McKinsey & Company revealed that organizations with high gender diversity can reap financial rewards. According to the global management consulting firm’s ‘Diversity Wins: How Inclusion Matters’ report, a company with a diverse gender balance is 25 percent more likely to achieve higher-than-average profits. When ethnic diversity is considered, this value rises to 36 percent.
Creating a values-driven culture by capturing our skills
TRATON seeks to drive a values-driven culture throughout the Group. The impact of this is twofold: it safeguards our company culture and ensures effective cross-brand collaboration.
With Diversity & Inclusion at TRATON we want to develop our employees and organization and create a diverse and inclusive working environment. It’s about all the things we can see and keep track of, like age, gender, and nationality. But it’s also about the many things we can’t see – and looking beyond biases to capture the skills, knowledge, personal traits, and perspectives that are essential for our company.
D&I enables TRATON to understand our broad customer base and serve them in the best possible way. It also empowers us to be creative, innovative, and successful regarding the latest technologies. Additionally, it ensures we attract, recruit, and retain the future-ready workforce we need to be successful, while making everyone feel safe, included, and listened to, so they can unleash their full potential.
“Diversity & Inclusion are at the core of our culture and deeply interlinked with our strategy, purpose, and our new shared core values."Christian Levin
D&I is sustainably integrated into our everyday business at the TRATON GROUP. It is fundamentally anchored and effectively implemented through a set of strategies and measures across all our brands. We follow up on the success of our D&I initiatives through relevant KPIs and regular evaluation of them.
TRATON’s D&I activities are supported by a team of ‘D&I advocates’ from across the company who act as authentic influencers and contact persons for questions on the topic. Together, they regularly meet and develop D&I practices for our everyday business, inspiring others to capture and make use of all aspects of diversity along the value chain. This includes running workshops with employees and managers to raise awareness of matters linked to the topic.
“Diversity & Inclusion are at the core of our culture and deeply interlinked with our strategy, purpose, and our new shared core values. Capturing and supporting the diversity of skills, experience, knowledge, and the perspectives of our most valuable asset – our employees – is key to deliver as ONE STRONG GROUP.” – Christian Levin, CEO TRATON .
