Munich, March 04, 2024 – Mathias Carlbaum’s appointment as member of TRATON’s Executive Board has been confirmed by TRATON’s Supervisory Board for another five years until September 2029, with effect from October 1, 2024. Mathias Carlbaum became CEO of Navistar in September 2021 and has been a member of TRATON’s Executive Board since October 2021.

Like the rest of the TRATON GROUP, Navistar also believes that the future of transportation is battery electric. Major customers are showing an interest in this new technology. For example, Navistar has already announced deliveries of the first International eMV Series vehicles. Navistar has also made progress when it comes to the charging network, having launched a partnership with Quanta Services, a major provider of grid infrastructure solutions in North America. I look forward to continuing working together with Mathias Carlbaum and his team to transform transportation.”
Other accomplishments at Navistar include delivering the International S13 Integrated Powertrain to customers, bringing the Common Base Engine (CBE) to the North American market, and investing in digital tools for improved customer experience. Mathias Carlbaum holds a Master of Business Administration and began his career at Scania in 1997 as a management trainee. Carlbaum has extensive experience in international sales and marketing. He held a variety of managerial roles at Scania from 2001, including as Managing Director of Scania Ibéria and as Managing Director of Scania do Brasil. Mathias Carlbaum was appointed Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Operations at Scania CV AB in 2016. From April 2021, he headed the post-merger management of Navistar on the TRATON GROUP’s behalf.
