Pietro Zollino succeeds Julia Kroeber-Riel as TRATON GROUP’s Head of Communications

Munich, July 27, 2021 – Pietro Zollino (54) will become the TRATON GROUP’s Head of Group Communications, Governmental Relations & Sustainability effective November 1, 2021, taking over from Julia Kroeber-Riel, who intends to explore a new direction in her career. As former Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at MAN Truck & Bus, a brand of TRATON, Zollino is already familiar with the commercial vehicle industry.

Zollino began his professional career as an automotive journalist and Head of the Test and Service department at Motor Presse Stuttgart. In 2002, he moved to Mercedes-Benz Cars, taking over as Manager Global Communications. Zollino, who has a degree in physics and trained as a journalist, joined Volkswagen AG in 2012. In 2016, Zollino moved to Herndon, Virginia, to work as the Chief Communications Officer North American Region (US, Canada, and Mexico) for the Volkswagen brand. From 2017 onward, he was also responsible for the entirety of Volkswagen communications in the US in his role as the Executive Vice President Communications for Volkswagen Group of America. Zollino became Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at MAN Truck & Bus in September 2020.
